Deep Creek O'Keefe Diversion Fish Ladder

The O'Keeffe Diversion Fish Ladder Project is located is at RM 7.7 on Deep Creek near the town of Adel, Oregon. Deep Creek begins in the Warner Mountains and flows to the east joining Crump Lake in the Warner Basin. Restoring fish passage for Warner sucker (ESA Threatened) and Warner Lakes Redband trout (State and Federal Sensitive) was the focus of this project while maintaining irrigation. Following an iterative design process for the fish ladder and weir modifications, a vertical slot fishway was selected as the preferred  type of fish ladder. The vertical slot fishway meets fish passage criteria over a wide flow range, is resilient to debris and sediment fouling, and can be economically designed and constructed.
